What Is The South Central Education Renewal Zone (SCA-ERZ)?

The SCA-ERZ is a broad-based collaborative effort that brings together schools, higher education  institutions, education service cooperatives, community members, youth and support organizations—and collaboratively concentrates resources on improving and sustaining the partner schools.The Vision of the ERZ is to serve as a model for learning & professionalism. In six (6 years the partnership will be engaged in a successful on-going process of simultaneous renewal where:Partners will concentrate, integrate and more efficiently meet identified needs of the partner schools.Educators will demonstrate strong content knowledge & effective delivery strategies tailored to needs of schools/communities.

All students will have access to a comprehensive curriculum.

• Partners will be engaged in high-performing, personalized learning communities that improve teaching and learning.
• Parents and the communities will actively support the ERZ schools in meaningful ways that promote student success.
• Schools will be staffed with highly qualified teachers and support personnel who are disposed to working in high needs settings.
• The SCA-ERZ will be fully functioning at the operational level of development and implementation.

Mission:

The South Central Arkansas Education Renewal Zone Partnership seeks to create a broad-based collaborative relationship that will bring together geographically or technologically proximate stakeholders (31 schools, the
University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Southeast Arkansas College, Arkansas River Education Service Cooperative, Crowley’s Ridge Education Service Cooperative, community members, youth and support organizations) and concentrate its resources on improving and sustaining schools for the benefit of all students.
