How your Financial Aid is applied to your account with the Student Finance Office
Awards are paid as follows:
UAPB scholarships and grants, Pell Grants, Perkins and Federal Loans (Direct or FFELP), several private loans and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants are CREDITED to your student bill each term. You must notify the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid if you decide that you DO NOT want your loans and you want us to return the funds to your lender.
Work-study earnings will be paid to you by check bi-weekly, based on time actually worked. You may use work-study earnings to pay part of your bill by endorsing the checks to your account at the Cashier’s Office.
Outside scholarships and grants are applied against your tuition bill when the funds are actually delivered to UAPB. If the funds are delivered by check payable to you or to you and UAPB, you will have to endorse the check. We will notify you when a check requiring your endorsement has been received. (Please keep your local address current with the Student Admissions and Academic Records Office.)
If you owe UAPB more than the amounts credited to your account, the balance is payable to the university before the first day of the semester, or 30 days from the receipt of an invoice, if the invoice is received after the beginning of the term.
Monthly Payment Plans
UAPB in partnership with Tuition Management Systems (TMS) offers a plan that allows you to divide your expenses into equal monthly installments. Through the plan, your balance due the University must be fully paid by the end of the semester. There is a $48.00/semester enrollment fee to participate in the plan but no interest is charged to participants. Enrollment information is available at www.afford.com/UAPB.
Credit Card Payments
UAPB does accept credit card payments through VISA and Mastercard. These transactions are handled through the Cashier’s Office.
