The Department of English, Threatre and Mass Communications at UAPB offers several undergraduate degrees. Those degrees are the Bachlor of Arts in English Literature/Liberal Arts; the Bachelor of Science in English Education, and the Bachelor of Arts in Threatre and Communications. A major goal of the English, Threatre and Communications curriculum is to prepare students for the rigors of the workplace through coursework designed to foster critical thinking, writing, and practical skills. A student majoring in English, threatre, print journalism or broadcast journalism will be qualified to pursue a number of interesting, challenging and rewarding professions, such as teaching, law, creative and/or technical writing, publishing, public relations, communications, advertising, banking, retailing, stage, screen, or business and industry-related activities.
Moreover, English, threatre and journalism majors are also poised to consider graduate school options in areas such as English language studies, law, business, acting and education. The career options are endless.
