At UAPB we believe that Orientation is essential in assisting new students with their transition to college and to UAPB. Because of this, Orientation is required of all new students! It provides you with a comprehensive introduction to UAPB and sets the stage for a successful transition to college life. As new students, you will take the first step in creating your success at UAPB during Orientation, where you will be introduced to the campus, academic opportunities, rich traditions, resources and services, and important policies and procedures.

The goals of New Student Orientation are to:

• Acquaint you with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and its philosophy, mission and goals, and assist you in understanding how these relate to your life goals
• Introduce you to people, programs, and services that can support your educational and personal goals, so that you will be able to navigate the University on your own
• Assist you in understanding rules, regulations and policies
• Assist you in discovering how to avoid potential problems and in identifying where to find help when you need it
• Introduce you to strategies that will help you get off to a good start
• Create a campus atmosphere that reduces anxiety and stimulates an exciting learning environment
