Student Organizations

Mu Alpha Nu Honorary Choral Fraternity and Mu Alpha Mu Honorary Choral Sorority are organizations for students who desire to assist in achieving and maintaining a true academic, professional, and intellectual atmosphere with respect to choral knowledge and choir activities. Active members of these organizations are those currently participating in the Vesper Choir. Membership is sought by male and female students who are active members of the UAPB choral performing organizations. Any student desiring admission to these organizations: must be a member in good standing in the choir; must have a grade point average of at least 2.40, must have at least 14 UAPB credit hours, and must pay the required membership fee. The prospective members must participate in a pledge period as stipulated by the organization and the university. The purpose and duties of these organizations are clearly defined: 1. To stimulate and perpetuate the interest of its members in the knowledge and performance of fine choral music; 2. To take an active role in the successful execution of fine choral music; 3. To develop and promote appropriate attitudes by providing a channel for furthering students participation in choral activities; 4. To promote understanding and cooperation among the choir members, the director and the community--both university and 5. To exercise the responsibilities of these organizations as provided in their constitutions. There is a pledging period of three weeks before intimation.
