Research

The University Museum and Cultural Center enhances the research and public service/outreach mission of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) by providing access to a repository of historical records and artifacts related to Branch Normal College, Arkansas AM&N School, Arkansas AM&N College, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Arkansas Delta. A solid collection of over 50, 000 items including photographs, papers, manuscripts, catalogs, letters, yearbooks, journals, periodicals, artifacts and other ephemera, create the museum's holdings that document the lives of the people who helped mold the history of the institution and African American life in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, and the Arkansas Delta.

The museum archives is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Although appointments are not required during our normal business hours, they are strongly encouraged to prevent crowding and to ensure that we have the materials that you need prior to your visit. The Viralene J. Coleman Computerized Writing Center is committed to their mission of assisting students in identifying writing concerns, discussing methods for improving student writing, and encouraging students to use their own thought processes as they write, in order to foster stronger and more confident writers.They offer one-on-one tutorial conferences and drop-in assistance with specialized writing assignments such as paragraphs, essays, letters, and research papers.
