Research

The University Museum and Cultural Center enhances the research and public service/outreach mission of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) by providing access to a repository of historical records and artifacts related to Branch Normal College, Arkansas AM&N School, Arkansas AM&N College, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Arkansas Delta. Materials in the museum archives are non-circulating and require supervised access.

Due to limited staffing, the museum archives is open to students, faculty, staff, and the public by appointment only. Appointments must be made at least two (2) business days in advance and are subject to staff availability.
Please schedule an appointment with the museum staff in advance to ensure that any materials to be consulted can be retrieved and made available upon arrival. To check availability and schedule an appointment, please contact:

Class Assignments and Visits

We encourage UAPB professors and their students to use our rich and diverse exhibits and collections. UAPB professors are invited to use materials that enhance the educational goals of their students. If a professor gives a class assignment involving research at the museum, then it is important that the professor contact the museum staff well in advance, providing documentation pertaining to the assignment and the course syllabus. The museum staff will then discuss with the instructor the procedures for using the museum archives as well as the sorts of research projects that are feasible and appropriate within the framework of the assignment and the resources of the museum archives. If you have any questions or concerns about using materials in the museum for your classes, please contact:
