Welcome to the Housing Selection Process!
You can complete your housing assignment through the online RESIDENCE system by Simplicity.
Please review the instructions below based on the housing application type to learn more about completing the application. If you are an incoming freshman, transfer student, or upperclassman and have any questions, please contact the Office of Residential Life at (870) 575-7256 or email reslife@uapb.edu.

Incoming Freshman
Fall & Spring Academic School Year Housing Application Information
The Office of Residential Life is located at the Delta Housing Complex II (Click to see map for building 6) and the hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please follow the instructions below to fill out your housing application. If you have problems with login information, please email us at reslife@uapb.edu or contact 870-575-7256. Please note that newly admitted students must wait a minimum of 48 hours before a housing application can be completed.
In addition, please note that applications will not be processed until they have been completed and the deposit paid. The department will begin forwarding an official housing assignment designating the residence hall and room to which the student has been assigned at the end of May for the Academic School Year.
If you are an incoming freshman at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, you must know the following
before logging into RESIDENCE for the first time.
- The Online Housing Application is available starting at 1:00 pm on March 28.
- To access your new RESIDENCE online account, you will need to follow the instructions below.
- Once you have logged into RESIDENCE, it will ask you to change your password. Please ensure that your passwords are strong (at least 8 to 10 characters and include number(s)/symbols).
Please note that incoming freshman students will have to
wait for a minimum of 48 hours after their housing deposit before accessing the RESIDENCE system. To request a specific roommate, please review the housing guide below to access the roommate code.

Incoming Freshman A2B Program. If you are an Incoming freshman accepted into the A2B Program, please call 870-575-7256 or email reslife@uapb.edu before completing the housing application.
How to login (Incoming Freshman ONLY)
You will need to know your Login ID and password to log in. Your Login ID is as follows: You will use the 1st six (6) characters of your last name unless your last name is less than 6 characters, and then use your full last name followed by the 1st character of your first name and the last four digits of your Student Id number. Here are some examples:
- Your name is William Smith and your ID number is 0009999 then your login id would be smithw9999@uapb.edu.
- Your name is Jane Stevenson and your ID number is 0654321 then your username would be stevenj4321@uapb.edu.
Your initial password is the 1st character of your first name in uppercase and 1st character of your last name in lowercase followed by month, date, and year of your birth date (mm/dd/yy).
Examples:
- William Smith and birth date is March 3, 2001 then your initial password would be Ws030301
- Jane Stevenson and birth date is December 25, 1999 then your initial password would be Js122599.
Transfer Students
The Transfer Student Online Housing Application is available for students with 30 credit hours or more at 1:00 pm starting on March 28. Transfer students will be placed into available space as housing applications are approved. More information on how to complete the transfer housing application; options can be found in the Transfer Student Housing Guide below. Please note that applications will not be processed until they have been completed and paid the deposit. The department will begin forwarding an official housing assignment designating the residence hall and room to which the student has been assigned at the end of May for the Academic School Year.

Returning Students
For the Housing Selection Process, returning residents can access their RESIDENCE online. Returning residents will use their online RESIDENCE accounts to complete the housing application and select their rooms. Current freshman students that are requesting to live at the Johnny B. Johnson Housing Complex, housing applications will not be processed until grades post after the spring semester. Students requesting to live at the JBJ are required to have 30 credit hours and at least a 2.5-grade point average. Please review the information below:
- Returning students Online Housing Applications will be available beginning March 28, starting at 8:00 AM.
- Returning students reclaiming their current room must submit a housing application by May 5, and must be registered for classes by May 5, to reclaim their current room.
- You will need to know your Login ID and password to log in.
How to login (Returning Students)
Your Login ID is as follows: You will use the 1st six (6) characters of your last name unless your last name is less than 6 characters, and then use your full last name followed by the 1st character of your first name and the last four digits of your Student Id number.
- Examples: your name is William Smith and your ID number is 0009999 then your login id would be smithw9999@uapb.edu.
- Your name is Jane Stevenson and your ID number is 0654321 then your username would be stevenj4321@uapb.edu.
Password Information
Please note that if returning students have forgotten their password, please review the resident login page where students sign in to apply for housing and click forgot password to change password.
Please note that applications will not be processed until they have been completed and paid the deposit. The Department will begin forwarding an official housing assignment designating the residence hall and room to which the student has been assigned at the end of May for the Academic School Year. Second Summer School Session Housing Applications
The Department of Residential Life would like to welcome students to housing for the second summer session. If you are an incoming freshman accepted into the
LIONS programs, please select LIONS Program Summer School Only Housing Application and pay the $100 housing deposit. After completing the summer school application and planning to live in the residence hall for the fall semester, please fill out the LIONS Program Fall and Spring Housing Application and pay the $25 housing application fee. Please select the Current Student summer Session II housing application if you are a current student. If you are an incoming freshman enrolling in the second summer session, please select the Freshman Summer Session II housing application. Please call 870-575-7256 or email reslife@uapb.edu before completing the housing application if you have any questions.
