The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is located in the northern part of the city of Pine Bluff in South Central Arkansas. The city has a population of 63,000 and is the county seat of Jefferson County. It is accessible by land via State Highways 65 and 79 and by air via Little Rock Airport.
The School of Education has, as its priority, the recruitment, retention and graduation of its candidates. Scholarships, academic advising, mentoring, assessments, individual and group instruction provide a support structure for teacher candidates.

The program is the product of an enabling partnership with national governmental agencies such as the United States Department of Agriculture, United States Department of Transportation, and other national agencies.
You would want to know also that UAPB offers the only Bachelor and Master's Degree Programs in Aquaculture/Fisheries in Arkansas. Not only is the Aquaculture Program the Center of Excellence at this university, but also it is an internationally-recognized educational value and economic value as well. You will want to know also that teacher education--a focus of this institution for 125 years--along with minority business development, mathematics and science, as well as student leadership development are high priorities. And competitive athletics with a new $7.5 million complex are just some of the enhancements to the out-of-class learning and social experience.

As a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, I can say that I am proud to have attended this university. While attending I majored in Visual Arts. There was a lot to learn about being an artist. Fortunately, I had great mentors like Henry Linton, Jimmy Mumford, Earnest Davidson, and Dr. Detmers. They inspired me to become great at everything that I do. I use that advice today which allows me to achieve in all of my endeavors.
The RESIDUAL ACT exam is scheduled for Saturday, August 7, 8:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 1:00 p.m. and Monday, August 23, 8:00 a.m. by Student Counseling, Assessment and Development Center.
