Business Administration

Welcome to the Department of Business Administration. We are the largest unit within the School of Business and Management. This department offers the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with concentration in one of the following areas: 1) Management, 2) Finance, 3) Marketing, and 4) Economics. The graduates in this department are subject to the general university requirements applicable to all students pursuing a degree at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. All graduates must have a minimum cumulative 2.00 GPA. For the degree, students must complete the outlined program of study, pass the English Proficiency Exam, and meet all other instructional requirements and the departmental requirements of majors in the Department of Business Administration.

 The undergraduate degree program in the Department of Business Administration leads to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in the following areas of specialization:
 
Finance covers all aspects of acquisition, administration, and management of money. This will prepare students for careers in banking investments, financial analysis, stock brokerage, and insurance.
 
Management trains the student in areas ranging from the aspects of managing people to the techniques used in managing resources. Management graduates obtain positions in personnel management, operations research, inventory control and logistics.
 
Marketing provides the student with an understanding of marketing strategies that organizations use to sell their products. The marketing concentration prepares graduates for careers in sales, advertising, marketing research, wholesaling and retailing.
 
Economics equips the student with an understanding of the aspects of supply and demand of resources.  Economics graduates pursue careers in the government, financial institutions, stock market, and research organizations.
