Scholarships

During the 2006-2007 academic year, students were awarded scholarships through private funds. The generous donor support from alumni and friends made it possible for these deserving students to receive financial assistance. The total amount awarded for the 2006-2007 academic year was $416,148.00.

Shametrix Dill, had the following to say when she received a scholarship, “I am always so grateful to receive scholarships, and it is even more touching to know that our alumni have made them possible. It shows that they are willing to invest in our success.”

Theodis E. Dancy, II, a 2000 alumnus of UAPB, is presently a candidate for the Ph.D. in higher education administration at Louisiana State University and has maintained a grade point average of 3.93. He said the following about receiving scholarships, “The hallmarks of my academic experiences at UAPB were receiving scholarships. I am now motivated to make a similar difference for students who follow me. The financial support that I received from this university helped in shaping my academic career at its earliest point…”

General Scholarships

Contributing to the general scholarship fund is one way alumni and friends can help the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff fulfill its mission to provide education opportunities to students who may not have the resources to enjoy the benefit of higher education.

During the Fall 2005-2006 semester, 300 students were unable to remain in school because of financial need. Your help is needed! Please contribute to the General Scholarship Fund!!

Endowed Scholarships

The endowments are established for the sole purpose of yielding annual income that will be awarded perpetually to deserving UAPB students. Endowments are created by individual donors who seek to remember, honor, and pay tribute to a family member, mentor, or other loved one. Endowments are also created by individuals who want to create a living legacy that spans generations or enhances the institution by supporting its students. Funds may also be donated as Alumni Scholarship Endowments. Persons interested in the Alumni Scholarship Endowment should contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at (870) 575-8499.

Please contact the Office of University Relations and Development for additional information about making a gift to scholarships.
