Message from the President

As we embark on the search for the next Chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, I’m very exited about the future of this fine university. UAPB offers numerous attractive qualities to potential candidates for the position, and chief among them is the passion of the outstanding students, faculty, staff and alumni of the university.

As Arkansas’s only public historically black university, UAPB plays an integral role in our state and in the educational portfolio of the University of Arkansas System. Nicknamed “The Flagship of the Delta,” UAPB is also a very important institution in the City of Pine Bluff and the Delta region. Understanding these unique strengths will be important to finding the very best person to lead UAPB into the future.

To accomplish this goal, I have established an advisory search committee representing UAPB students, faculty, staff, alumni and community supporters. I’m grateful to each member of the committee for agreeing to assist in this very important task. Additionally, we have engaged the services of Greenwood/Asher & Associates, an academic search firm with extensive experience in executive searches.
