Chancellor's Award

PURPOSE:

In an effort to appreciate those that demonstrate outstanding customer service, Interim Chancellor Dr. Calvin Johnson sought to initiate a series of annual awards to recognize and reward faculty excellence in four specified areas of performance: teaching, research or creative endeavors, professional and public service; and customer service.
 
Recognition is awarded at the University level and consists of: a cash gift of $1,000 for the winner in teaching; a cash gift of $1,000 for the winner in research and creative endeavors; a cash gift of $1,000 for the winner of outstanding staff member; and a cash gift of $1,000 for the winner in outstanding customer service. The winners will be announced at a special ceremony near the end of the academic year.

Chancellor’s Award in Teaching
Candidates for the award must be current full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.  Instructors who hold full-time faculty status may also be eligible.  Candidates must have completed three or more full years of service to the University.  Candidates who have administrative responsibilities are eligible if their teaching duties are at least 50% or more for the academic year. (Note: Administrators are not eligible for this award).

Candidates may be nominated by the dean of their school, chairperson of their department, or faculty/colleague.  Self-nominations are also accepted. Download the packet for criteria and nomination form (pdf).

Chancellor’s Award in Outstanding Customer Service
Candidates for the award must be current full-time faculty or staff of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.  Candidates must have completed three or more full years of service to the University.  (Candidates who have full-time administrative responsibilities are not eligible for this award).

Candidates may be nominated by an administrator, faculty member, student, or external constituent. Self-nominations are also accepted. Download the packet for criteria and nomination form (pdf).
