The LIONS Program is a summer residential academic enrichment experience that assists new freshmen admitted to UAPB in making a successful transition from high school and home to college life.
How the LIONS Program benefits you

- Get ahead when you enroll in 6 credits (English and Algebra)
- Attend early placement testing and registration
- Attend tutoring sessions and “College Knowledge” seminars
- Reside in the Living Learning Center residence hall*

- Attend Fall Freshmen Orientation
- Meet other new freshmen
- Get to know faculty and staff
- Develop supportive relationships and lasting new friendships

*Jefferson County residents may live off campus and purchase the Commuter Meal Plan

Ready to apply? Here's how you do it:
- Apply for admission to UAPB
- Submit your ACT/SAT score, immunization record, and final high school transcript
- Apply for the 2021 LIONS Program
- Apply for campus housing and pay a $100 deposit for summer II and $25 for fall
- Complete the FAFSA (2020-2021 summer) for a financial aid award for summer school by April 30, 2021 (use UAPB Federal School Code: 001086)
- Participants not awarded the summer PELL Grant may be required to pay the equivalent amount, out-of-pocket
- Submit the LIONS Program application and the $500 application fee by April 30, 2021
- Enroll as a full-time student for fall semester 2021
Note: Awarded financial aid will be applied to the student’s account balance for summer II first. You will not receive a refund for summer II.
