Admissions Policy

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is committed to ensuring that each student has the opportunity to be academically successful, develop personally and professionally, and graduate prepared for a career or professional and graduate school admission. The University seeks to establish guidelines that assist students with their ability to benefit from and be successful with the college experience.

Effective Summer I 2016, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will only enroll students in the following two categories:

Full Admission

• Completed the high school core curriculum and received the diploma or the equivalent
• An ACT score of 19 or above or SAT score equivalent (1330 or above)
• A high school GPA of 2.00 or above

Conditional Admission

• Completed the high school core curriculum and received the diploma or the equivalent
• An ACT score of 15-18 or SAT score equivalent (1060-1320)
• A high school GPA of 2.00 or above

Conditionally admitted students must complete an Individualized Student Success Plan and agree to:
o Attend student success workshops and freshmen orientation;
o Work with a faculty/staff mentor/advisor;
o Attend tutoring sessions in developmental math, English, and/or reading; and
o Complete all remedial/developmental courses during the first 30 semester hours.

Additionally all conditionally admitted students are strongly encouraged to enroll in the summer LIONS Program before the freshman year.

All applicants must submit the following:
• Completed Application for Admission (www.uapb.edu)
• ACT and/or SAT scores (UAPB Federal school code: 001086)
• Official and final high school or GED transcript
• Current immunization record.
