Dr. Marian Evans Accepted into Quantum Leap Leadership Program

Dr. Marian Evans, Program Coordinator for the MISRGO at UAPB, has been accepted into the 6th Cohort of the prestigious Quantum Leap Leadership Development Program. This 10-week national program selects 8–12 leaders to build advocacy skills, expand professional networks, and strengthen community-focused tobacco and vaping prevention efforts.

Anand Geddam Wins 1st Place at Research Symposium

Anand Geddam, a student in the Department of Computer Science at UAPB, recently secured 1st place in the oral presentation competition at the UAPB Research Symposium. Mentored by Dr. Vinay Raj, Geddam’s outstanding presentation earned him top honors at the university-wide event and a $500 cash prize sponsored by the AR-Alliance.

Hawulethu Ndlovu Wins 3rd Place at DART Symposium

Hawulethu Ndlovu, a Computer Science student, recently won 3rd place in the undergraduate category for a data science-related project at the DART Student Symposium at the Clinton Center in Little Rock. Mentored by Dr. Vinay Raj, Ndlovu’s presentation stood out among competitors from various universities, earning a $250 prize.

Praise Fabiyi Wins 2nd Place at Academy of Science

Praise Fabiyi, a student in the Department of Biology, secured 2nd place in the undergraduate poster competition at the 2026 Arkansas Academy of Science Conference. Mentored by Dr. Vinay Raj, Fabiyi’s presentation focused on a bioinformatics research project, standing out among state-wide competitors to win a certificate and a $50 cash prize.
