Health Awareness Peer Educators

Health Awareness Peer Educators (HAPE) are a group of compassionate students at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff whose key focus is HIV/AIDS. The students are trained by certified teachers in HIV/AIDS education which provides information and support to assist in positive lifestyles behaviors. They communicate with peers about health concerns and issues (obesity, personal hygiene, blood donation, etc.) and they serve as a resource and role model to all people who connect with them. They believe an educated peer or person is a more balanced individual in determining his or her destiny.
