Congratulations on your admission to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff! We are pleased that you have chosen to pursue your educational goals at UAPB, and we are excited to have you join the family.

To assist you in making the transition to college life, University College and the Department of Basic Academic Services provide new student orientation. Attendance at orientation is your first step toward getting off to a good start, and it is required of all new students. For additional information, please call 870-575-8356.

Honor Student Orientation

Welcome to the start of the 2014-2015 academic year at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff! I’d like to personally invite you to attend the 2014 Carolyn F. Blakely Honors College Orientation. This orientation will allow you to meet other honor students, and to become more acquainted with the Honors program. Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, August 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. in Corbin Hall, Room 128. Lunch will be provided.

PREPARING TO ATTEND

How do I get to UAPB?
You can click here to get directions to UAPB based on your location

What should I bring?
  • Comfortable clothing (Arkansas is warm during this time of year)
  • A parent or guardian
  • Important documents (transcript, immunization records). If you’ve received a letter concerning the event, then all requirements have been satisfied. You can, however, go through the checklist to be sure.

ATTENDING ORIENTATION

Who will I meet/hear from?
You will meet representatives from Financial Aid, Basic Academic Services, Housing and more to learn about UAPB and how to navigate your collegiate career. You'll also have a chance to meet Deans and Departmental Chairpersons to explore the majors available.

Where can I stay during orientation?
You can stay with your parent or guardian in area hotels up until the date dormitories open (August 19). If you have any questions about housing, call Residential Life at (870) 575-7256.

CHECKLIST

  • Application for Admission
  • Official ACT or SAT Test Scores (Minimum ACT Composite Score of 15 or SAT equivalent)
  • Immunization Record
  • Final Official High School Transcript showing graduation date (Official high school transcripts must have at least a 2.00 grade point average on a 4.00 scale and 22 completed college prep high school units)
  • Completed FAFSA
